Maybe I’m writing this a little reactively, but I simply cannot believe some of the things that have happened this evening. Let me ask the question, why is it that someone you trust would deliberately and willfully spread lies and rumour about you? I’m telling you (Zambian Speak there) I’m mad and very angry at the moment.
I guess it is to be expected. What we are doing at the moment is a direct affront to evil and a direct challenge to the grip that evil has on many, so there are ways that the enemy has to undermine the effort. This time, the attack has come up close and personal and I’m very betrayed and hurt by that.
I always find that hard. Those that are close to you have the ability to build you up or they have the ability to tear you down. On this occasion, even though the effort had been to tear me and what we are doing down, I’m not going to allow that to happen. In any case, the Lord is involved as well and he is much bigger than that.
Now I can’t really say what happened, at best it’ll cause more trouble, at worse I’ll get sued by someone, but it’s a bad evening when someone you know lies to your face, even when it is obvious that they are doing so.
I’m left with the question how can a person do that? Why would a person do that? What motivates someone?
The answer is I do not know, only that it hurts and now I must act quickly to limit damage by the web that person has spun. Pray for that.
Later this week, the Life! groups in the village start. We’re under a bit of pressure to get everything done in the next 3 weeks, especially with beginning the practical support of our new found Life! team in this area. I guess the situation that has happened is timed to disrupt that. Please, please pray that it does not.
You are as much a part of this as I am.
