Well I’m in Livingstone. It’s been a year since I came here. As you may know I’ve been running some training on an evangelistic course called the Alpha Course here in Livingstone. It has been great to see some of the people I have known over a number of years.
In fact as I write this I’m down by the Zambezi, watching a sunset at the Royal Livingstone Hotel. Hard life eh! I am surrounded by lots of American tourists though (apologies to American readers of my blog!- I’m sure English tourists are just as annoying!).
Today has gone really well, although an old neck injury is freezing up due to me being bumped around for 100km in the back of a pick up yesterday. That was – there is no other way to put it – hell! I was praying for the journey to end!
The conference here has gone really very well so far – although it was very distinctly African today – you know the drill – everything late! 🙂
I must tell you about the ministry time in Lusaka at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross. It was immense. People were being slain, crying, being released from things – the Lord was really moving. I had such a sense that the Lord was moving and breaking down barriers in people’s lives. (BTW to Lynn Swart – thanks for your encouragement!).
So I was very encouraged by that.
I must admit I’m still trying to make sense of all of the stuff that has and has not happened on this trip – I feel like indeed I have been walking with the Lord for the entire time. He’s been showing me the way to go and the way not to go. I was thinking the other day – I could even live out here – that’s one for prayer I think!
So down by the Zambezi, watching the sun go down, I’m mulling over the Lord’s will and his direction for both myself and my family, here in Africa. It is truly one of the most beautiful sights on Earth – and I’ve now seen a few. Please pray for us in this!
The most important thing is that we do His will and His will alone!
This place has been a place where I’ve made many decisions. Let’s see where these decisions will take us now.
